“Invest in your hair, its the crown you never take off”

How to take care of your protective styles?

1. Make sure to moisturize your styles using leave in conditioners. You can use oil, just in moderation. Always remember that our scalp produces its own oil. Adding on to that, can make your scalp itchy and add build up.

2.Shampoo your hair. When you have a good routine with shampoo, it’ll help break down the conditioning gel I use and any leave in conditioners(or oils). Which in turn helps your take down process and alleviates the bulb of build up at the root of braids or twists. Make sure to rinse thoroughly, provide some type of conditioner and fully dry the hair.

3.Wrap your hair every night and when you are lounging at home. This can help prolong your style and protect your hair from friction from clothes, couches, etc.

I don’t have a set list of products you can use since everyone’s hair type is different. My favorite brands are Amika and Design Essentials, you can’t go wrong ordering from these two.

What’s the best way to take down a style?

Patience. Always give yourself enough time to sit down and careful take out your style. if you rush, something can go wrong. To alleviate cutting or creating split ends, always spray your hair with a detangler primer (Amika) or a leave in conditioner(with water). Let the primer or conditioner sit on the hair for 5-10 mins, depending on how long you’ve had the style in. Then, gently comb through each section.
